| 2357 | For Sale | Rare WW2 German K-98 ‘bnz’ 1944 Mauthausen | Maker marked ‘bnz’ 1944. De-activated with certificate. Strips & Cocks, Clean condition with ‘cherry’ wood. Serial number 3226. German Gestapo SS, headed by Heinrich Himmler built the infamous Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp in Austria, adjacent to the Stehr factory and set up a rifle assembly line. Using selected skilled labour from the Camp, in an attempt to keep up with the need for weapons, they began producing bnz marked Mauser K-98's for the German Army by late 1940. The bnz code was an attempt to conceal the source of the rifle. The bnz rifles were of superior quality, because fearing sabotage, the Gestapo SS imposed extraordinary quality control measures. | 2355 | For Sale | Uk legal deact UZI SMG with deactivation cert | Rare early manufacture with wooden detachable stock as per the original spec design, known to collectors as the (model A) UZI. This is the rare version made by IMI in Israel, so a real IMI made UZI, not the FN Belgium under licence production. Original finish, new spec but has moving cocking handle other moving parts, trigger etc and can be part field stripped for study. Has the larger 32 rnd magazine which is also missing on the others you see for sale. This being the first pattern design would have been the type which was in action in the Suez Crisis and 6 day war, as well as other historic battles. This version with wooden stock is the original design from1947 and came into front line service in 1954 and has been in military service since that date, the folding stock versions came into service later in the 1960’s so the wood stock ones are rarer and have more interest historically being the first pattern design model “A“. Historically important arm, with many special design features, now copied on late weapon designs. Classic arm of the cold war period and also a popular commando and secret service weapon.
